It's starting to get colder in North Carolina, but this was one of the prettiest autumns we've had in the piedmont for several years. There was a good four weeks of color on the trees, when we usually only get two before everything turns brown, so here's one last look before they all blow away, leaving empty branches and a winter setting. With the malls and shopping centers having already hung their wreaths, put up their Christmas trees and bedazzled their displays with red and gold, the holidays are quickly setting in! I can already smell Thanksgiving turkey and crisp pumpkin pie! So before all the festivities start, here's a few pictures celebrating this year's autumn season that has been so good to us!

Thank you for posting these beautiful pictures! I'm a Northerner living in Georgia and I long for those gorgeous hues that tell me it's autumn. All the trees here are green/evergreen and the grass is turning a sour brown. No vibrant colors to make me happy. I found you on the blog hop and am a new follower.
