Wires and Rust

My project for work next week is to make foldable brochures we can mail to prospective GTCC students interested in automotive work.  But the coolest thing about this project, is that when you unfold the package it becomes a poster!
So today, I took the first step and did a photo shoot of our Ford and GM technical car programs down in the vehicle workshop. Of course walking in, I immediately noticed the parts and pieces in every corner.  The countertops were covered in electronic devices and the floors were strewn with colored wires, twisted in balls of tangles.
I couldn't help but be mesmerized  by the bits of scraps and the rusted practice cars, when one of the guys came up to me, watching my stare into the abyss of wires, and said "it's just a mess isn't it!"  And before I could say anything else I looked up at him and just smiled, replying "I love it!"
It think its the vibrant colors that made the chaotic workroom so amazing to me!  The things people usually toss aside or just overlook as broken bits or unfinished things, I found to have an imperfect beauty that I felt compelled to capture!

  2. Wow - these pics are phenomenal! My fiance would love them because he is doing up a old truck and is obsessed with anything mechanical. Love the perspective!
